Act One, Scene Two

ROSIE (spoken)
That Adventure? Can we go on it now?

DOMINIC (looking highly relieved that his conversation with Snaggle is over)
Totally.

ROSIE (spoken)
I just have to go on a date with Worthy first.

DOMINIC (spoken)
What?

ROSIE (spoken)
Oh, not a real date. She said I should go on a pretend date with her, as Drago has pretend dates to keep his love and hate hidden. Like Winter should. It'll be fine. Bye!

Dominic looks confused as Rosie heads off.

The scene cuts to a glade, where Rosie and Worthy are walking together, with Grumpus walking after them. Rosie is talking excitedly about her upcoming Adventure, but says it will be less fun than the Adventure she had with Worthy.

ROSIE (spoken)
I mean, I find it highly unlikely that Dominic will successfully manage to fit a man's head in his mouth, or carry a Worgen back over his shoulder.

And you know why? Because we're unlimited!

ROSIE (singing)
Unlimited
Together we're unlimited

Rosie turns and takes Worthy's hands in hers.

ROSIE & WORTHY
Together we'll be the greatest team
There's ever been

Dreams, the way we planned 'em

A small thought bubble appears, showing Rosie and Worthy hiding behind a large stone idol, whilst men in Nazi uniforms shoot at them. Switchyard Sullivan also appears to be there, wearing a cream linen suit.

ROSIE
If we work in tandem

Another small thought bubble appears, showing Rosie running in one direction chased by Worgen, whilst Worthy clubs another over the head determinedly

ROSIE & WORTHY
There's no fight we cannot win

Worthy lifts her hand to Rosie's cheek, affectionately.

WORTHY
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn

A small thought bubble appears of Rosie dressed in full Arabian Nights gear, peering out from behind a veil at someone in a souk, whilst Worthy looks bemused.

WORTHY
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return

The two girls walk, until they break the treeline, and are now standing on a clifftop, with the waves crashing on a pebble beach beneath them.

WORTHY
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know how lucky I feel today
Because I knew you...

There's a brief instrumental break as the two girls begin to climb down the cliff. They stop on a ledge, wind whipping their hair.

WORTHY
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun

A small thought bubble rises from Rosie's head of a space ship hurtling through space, possibly featuring Rosie and Worthy in sci-fi space gear. She looks contemplative.

Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood

Worthy jumps from the ledge, landing on the beach.

WORTHY
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good

ROSIE (jumping down and taking Worthy's hands in hers)
It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime

Rosie looks out to sea, where there seems to be a pirate ship floating, just at the edge of vision. She turns and looks back to Worthy.

So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me

Rosie steps back, turning away to walk into the breakers, and then turning back and holding out her hands to Worthy, with the waves crashing dramatically against her, creating a nice Bollywood style wet dress effect.

ROSIE
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend...

Worthy steps into the waves, and the camera swings around to show off the scenery.

ROSIE
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea

There's a thought bubble of Rosie and Worthy in a small boat, being carried very fast down a Dark and Mysterious river, with Ominous Mist on both sides of the bank.

Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?

The camera zooms in and the two girls still seem to be standing closer, whilst singing.

ROSIE
But because I knew you

WORTHY
Because I knew you

ROSIE & WORTHY
I have been changed for good

As the song ends, they look as if they might kiss for a moment, Rosie realizes what she's doing, goes quite pale, says "I have to go" and runs, leaving Worthy looking rather confused.

The scene cuts to Rosie running up to Dominic, who is wandering along a road, occasionally swinging his axe and chopping the heads off flowers.

ROSIE (spoken)
Let's go right now.
