So, I've been considering trying to do a little bit more with this comm. Something I've been thinking about is making doing a weekly writing challenge. It would just be for fun, but I thought some people might enjoy stretching themselves slightly, and maybe doing something a little different.

Some of the ideas I had for a weekly writing challenge were:

1) Write a story about a venue without many stories - ie - Promethean.

2) Write a story which features a character which is not yours, although your character can also be in the story.

3) Do a write up of a recent scene you've been involved in.

4) Write a story based on a theme - ie - snow, loss, sunshine etc.

Would anyone be interested in that kind of thing? And if so, does anyone have any other ideas for challenges?

I'd be interested, thought I don't know how much I'd contribute - as you now, I tend to be an unereliable writer at the best of times, and only seem to come up with stuff when I'm feeling inspired, but I'll give it a shot...

Yes and no, in that order!

I like the idea of challenges, they may help combat one of the two reasons I don't write as often as others - that being the inspiration part.

Yes and no. Maybe make it a monthly challenge rather than a weekly thing though?

That or fortnightly.

I like challenges - although some recent scenes would not be safe for work ...

I'm interested, but sometimes have trouble coming up with inspiration for things to write, so I think a 'themed' idea would be quite good. Also, I think fortnightly or even monthly rather than weekly would be better, due to time constraints. But yeah, this does seem like a good idea :-)

any objections?

Do you have any objections when I do use your challenges? I cannot be a member because:
I am not able to "role-play" for 2 reasons: living abroad and health.
But I do badly need a regular challenge. Any objections?
I can of course do the writing on my own page if you prefer.

Thanks, I will post them on my own site, but you will be able to read them (if you wish) on Badgerandjams's friends site, that is easier to find.
Lately I did some poetry and short stories there in case you are interested who I am.
