[Lost] - Shadow of a Name
Feb. 4th, 2013 10:54 amWhat's in a name? Not much, after all.
Call a shadow by any other name
And it would surely still avoid the light.
But what of one not rooted in the dark
Who takes the name of shadow on herself?
Does she by will exist outside the light?
Or has the name no more to it than words?
What is the shadow in the heart of her?
What secrets dwell behind the quiet facade?
What is the sin that once condemned a child
Who rode so free and lived with little care
To first the cold embrace of asylum
And then to the ungentle hand of fae?
This question hangs, but does not signify,
For all that she now bears them as her name,
The shadows are but shadows of the past
And in the past there lives a better name
for one returned from fear and durance vile.
