Fury and Fire
Jul. 16th, 2011 10:00 pmCody could feel the blood flow from the wound in his flank, his grey fur growing slick as he turned to tear another spirit to pieces. To his left he could see Boomer darting back and forth keeping the attention of the shadowy wolf he was fighting. An earsplitting howl from his right alerted him to Harm calling upon one of the Battle Gifts of Fenris Ur and he saw his remaining foes shudder with fear.
"I could heal most of the damage they have done to me, but the wounds are symbols. Symbols of the pain we are willing to go through to defend this tomb, I will not yield or even show that I am in pain until these corruptions are banished"
As the thought flashed through his head he felt a burning sensation deep in his chest and fury threatened to pour through him, and he felt rather than heard a voice inside him.
"Rise son of Fenris, Rise and show them the Ancestral Fury you are named for."
Cody struck to his left and right tearing gobbets of Corpus from the spirits, all around him he saw his fellow Blood Talons redouble their efforts and knew he had not been the only one to feel the presence of Destroyer Wolf. As his last foe fell Cody threw back his head and howled with joy.
For the first time since Russia he had felt the presence of his totem and reveled in the approval of the greatest warrior of a race of hunters.
