Forsaken back story
Apr. 3rd, 2009 09:37 amI wrote this ages ago as a back story for my Forsaken character. I don't play her much anymore, but I found this and thought it was a reasonably cute story and worth posting.
As a note, the character concept for Nowhere was 'slasher flick suvivor'.
After the credits roll
One policeman was already retching out back.
His superior was just about managing to control himself, but his stomach was churning, and every time he blinked he saw the mess of blood and meat that had once been a person. He rubbed his forehead with a clammy hand as he talked.
"I think we've got four dead in there," he said. "One survivor, although she's not talking at the moment."
He paused for a moment and then continue "we think the survivor may have fought back. Possibly one of the other victims did as well, but didn't survive. She has blood on her hands and..."
There was another pause for a second and the policeman continued "...and on her mouth. She bit something, hard.
"She's in shock at the moment. We can't get anything out of her at all. I don't know if she can speak. The manager of the petrol station eight miles down the road has identified her as one of a group of four teenagers that came in to buy fuel two days ago. He reckoned they were college kids. Three Americans, and our survivor. He said he reckoned she was a Brit, by the sounds of her accent.
"They bought fuel, and headed on. We don't know how they ended up here."
The policeman sighed, and glanced back at the house, images dancing across his eyelids every time he blinked.
"The CSI guys say that the female victim - pretty little blonde thing - was probably the first to die. She died in the house. There are defense wounds on her arms, which indicate a struggle. There's also a lot of blood. She died from blood loss and shock after receiving multiple wounds.
"She also..."
He swallowed.
"She also lost body parts. The coroner thinks that happened whilst she was still alive. Our perp seems to have set a dog on her. There's no sign of the dog, so it could still be out there.
"It looks as if the other two kids - the two adolescent male victims - and our survivor all made a run for the woods. There's mud, twigs and leaves on their clothes and shoes. None on the first victim. The perp seems to have set out to round them up and bring them back to the house for more extended torture sessions.
"The second victim was probably the dark haired kid. He seems to have gotten off lightly. He was probably knocked unconscious with a blow to the head in the woods. He has a fractured skull, and although he was alive when the perp brought him back to the house to carve him up, the doc says he probably never regained consciousness, so never knew what was happening to him.
"The third victim put up a fight. We think he and the survivor worked out what was happening and decided not to run - to try and make a stand. Obviously he was the bigger target, and so the perp set the missing dog on him. He was ripped apart.
"Then we have the body of our perp.
"We don't know what happened. It looks crazy - I think the survivor just piled into him, and the dog got confused and turned on both of them. Both the survivor and the perp have claw marks on their bodies. Both have been bitten up pretty badly. I'd guess that although the survivor put up a fight, it was the dog that killed his master. The perp's jugular was severed by a large animal with sharp canines. That's not our girl. She barely left a mark on him. We only know she was in the fight at all because she's got blood on her hands and teeth.
"Then the dog just vanished.
"We're sure it was the perp who killed the other three kids. His knife has their blood all over it, and he owned the house where the first two were tortured. There are some other remains down in the cellar. They are skeletal, so it'll take some time to work out who they are, but we reckon he'd been running his house of horrors for some time.
"God alone knows why his dog turned on him, or why it left the last girl alive. Maybe our survivor will tell us when she starts talking like a human, instead of whimpering like some kind of wounded animal, but I wouldn't bet on it. That kind of trauma...well...it's the kind of thing you don't get over in a hurry.
"I wouldn't be surprised if she was never the same again..."
And again, the sharp scent of blood filled his nostrils, and the policeman had to stop talking as bile rose up in his throat once more.
