He clicked and patted the side of Napoleons neck; he would be pleased this evening. It had been many weeks since he had last had the chance to take him for a ride just for the pleasure of it. Too much had happened in the past few months. Many things to keep him distracted from his charges. A lot of those people who he had spoken to seem confused when he discussed his interests. There was nothing wrong with his interest in Napoleon or the others that still remained in the stables around him. He smiled and rubbed the horse’s neck absentmindedly before digging his heels slightly into Napoleons flanks.
First there was the death of his Sire, his real Sire. Then there came the contact with his Sibling, Lady Ana-Lucia over the discussion of the recently deceased. From their events had cascaded into territories unknown. An extended family which compromised a large majority of the Mekhet present at the meeting of Shadows. The funeral of one of his Nephews he had never even met.
He looked up at the stars and could not help but wonder at the enormity of the World he had awoken to and but remember the times gone past. He had to make a quite a few decisions about what was to be done and the likelihood of the struggles yet to come. He would need to at least establish himself; otherwise he would be left eating the dust. Perhaps the more timid, younger members of his Family could assist him in this.
He pulled himself back from his thoughts. Napoleon had already taken the opportunity to amble across the brush and graze. He pulled sharply on the rains and dug his heels sharply into the exposed flanks. As the horse built up speed he would at least enjoy himself this evening free of such worries.
Tonight he was in control, tonight he had the power.
