Day 565: Clear problems with Mk IV have become apparent. Lack of pelvic support prevents adjustment and causes severe chafing. Talcum powder not effective.

Day 567: Multiple attempts to powder/lubricate chafed region has resulted in soreness and mysterious rash. Itching unbearable. Have adapted Mk IV to provide nether access.

Day 570: Case SC-00147. Mysteriously high infestation evidenced by increased pellet distribution and characteristic odour. Donned Mk IV to investigate. Suit proved cumbersome yet effective in high-intensity environment (owner had fire up to third bar in living room, cellar had signs of damp and flooding). Unfortunately nether access provides point of entry for targeted attacks. Suit proves difficult to remove with rodents inside legging. Returned to lay bait boxes.

Day 574: Worked with Dad in OC to perfect trigger mechanism on PDS in exchange for help with Mum’s Christmas present. Intend to install under-floor heating in kitchen while she visits Gran at weekend. Need to buy copper pipes and modify flow system.

Day 577: Complications caused by lack of plumbing knowledge and nonsense cement instructions. Heating installed but sporadic in places, specifically in NE corner where concrete too thin. Have moved fridge to cover up exposed piping. Operations suspended until builders have repaired damage.

Day 583: Mk V suit perfected. Design simplified, reducing environmental protection in favour of mobility and pockets. Have modified hard hat with installation of DCIDs (Dual Cover Illumination Devices) and AMD (Adjustable Magnification Device).

Day 586: Tested Mk V in local obstacle course. Test interrupted with eviction from facility by irate staff. Facility clearly wasted on children. Can be booked for adults. Will consider team training if squad assembled.

Day 588: Discovered best website ever! Full of useful factoids on crytpids and local concerns. Ghost sighting posted is clearly a hoax (appears to be child/teenager with sheet on head – these kids are deliberately slowing down scientific progress with their buffoonery). However, MUTANT FISH-SQUID discovered by Shell. Why are the corporations scouring the depths for anomalies? Implications of mutant fish discovery too exciting to contemplate.

Day 590: Adverse weather conditions. Tested Mk V with run through city centre: no problems encountered. Light reduction devices effective against Christmas lights. Sound muffler effective – even blocked out noise of local busker wailing Radiohead songs and crying his eyes out. There are some weird people in this city.

Day 592: Day spent researching in museum of zoology. LEAD PIPE GNAWED THROUGH BY RODENT MENACE rightly preserved for future generations. Impressive collection of exoskeletons will improve cataloguing of discoveries. Will email museum copy of future findings.
