Chloe watched the words fade from the sky, half aware of the men whispering behind her back. F*ck them. She wasn't crazy. She was here for a reason.

The song pressed through her brain into her mouth, and she began to hum. For the first time, the block on her memory ("for the safety of herself and others" she told people when they asked) seemed like a curse. Someone back home loved her. Was it a parent? A lover? A child? She didn't remember. She hadn't even been aware of their existence. She just knew that she was here to save them.

So let them mock her. Let them think she was crazy. She knew the truth.

The song swelled, and she mouthed the words to the full moon, and to whoever waited for her.

Solely in my chest is my heart a drum of water.

I am under no disguise...

I love you so much for posting stories here which aren't just Lost.

Which is to say, I love the Lost prose that people put up too, but it's really lovely to see some variety.

Yep seeing Mortals stuff the last couple of days has made a nice change - especially as it's the better venue :P

Bah. I still love Lost the most of all the venues, but I'll accept Mortals as being a valid way of generating prose for my community.

Well I'll let you off as you don't play in my venue :P

One day I'll get something done with one of my other PCs that generates prose.

:P I wrote you stories too yesterday! They were short, I grant you, but they weren't Lost ones!

Btw, Allison, I love this story :)

You did! And I loved them too, but Allison posted at just the right time and I felt the need to share my joy at seeing such prose!
