It’s darker now earlier at nights. Easier for her to move around. With the nights darker for longer she doesn’t need her sunglasses so much. She can see so clearly and can relax in the night.
Hunting is a visceral pleasure. Each rabbit tastes so much better than the one before. The thrill of the chase and of the hunt gives her intense satisfaction.
Back in the human world she feels out of place. She throws herself into her work for the cabal and pushes her more animal nature to one side to assist those who need her care.
With only a few can she show her true face. The pale skin, the hairless features, the fangs.
There are those who fear she is losing herself to the other within – what she has been known to refer to as the monster inside. There are times she wants to divorce herself from the monster and to be human again.
But she will never be the girl she was before.
She must decide if she will take the path unseen and try to reverse the transformation.
The Vird is at war with the human.
No matter which side wins, Tari feels she will be the loser. How can she integrate what she has learned about the Vird with her Awakened self? She is Thyrsus with a connection to the Primal Wild. And being Vird has taught her so much about primal instincts – some fear that those instincts may not be suppressable.
She knows she will have help and support if she just asks.
She licks blood off her claws and ensures that the remains of her dinner will be found by local animals for organic disposal.
Monster or Awakened – who and what will she be?
The battle for her soul rages on.
