"So, last time we talked about regrets; something to do with your former fiancee?"

Janos stared at the ceiling. "I forgot to say goodbye," he whispered.

Tighten the buckles; pull the harness close so it won't show beneath the blouse.

"The last time we spoke, I didn't even tell her I loved her."

Red and blue, the wires, like veins and arteries. Life blood; death's pulse.

"Many people share that regret," Dr Fein assured him.

Slim sticks of explosive; destructive power at its most concentrated and lethal.

"When we lose a loved one, a part of us feels that we should have known, should have said something meaningful at the last."

Her hand in his, the final words. "Remember. Do not pull the cord until the minister is in the room."

Something meaninful.

"I knew," Janos replied. "I knew, and I still forgot."
