Aethelfrith watched the man who called himself Silver as he changed the...projector. Modern people had such strange names; they didn't make any sense to her. At least his seemed mean something, although she wondered if she had the translation wrong. The new English was sometimes confusing; she found the challenge simultaneously frustrating and delightful.

The projector started making the clacking sound again, the light starting to shine. She watched Silver sit back down before turning her attention to the screen in front of her. So far this time she was resisting the urge to go up to it and try to touch the man - who was clearly not really there since he was shades of black and white - on the screen. It was so real she was having a hard time grasping that the things on screen were like a moving painting.

Suddenly she was struck by divine inspiration. This would be the perfect way to continue God's work. Instead of liturgical poems and plays, she could write movies. They would reach more people, and His divine message could spread across the world.

She could feel His light spread inside her as she began to smile.
