Tal was playing the guitar when they came in. He didn't expect them to come in, didn't hear them enter.
His back was to the door, it'd been months since he was kidnapped. They'd treated him well enough and he'd let his guard down.
That's why he wasn't expecting it.
He wasn't expecting the iron grip on his arms and in his hair. He wasn't expecting the brush of cold steel. He wasn't expecting the hot flush running down his chest, rapidly cooling as it spread.
He wasn't expecting his bowels to open, or to be unable to scream. He hadn't expected to be trapped within his head as his body died around him.
He wasn't expecting it, and there was no shock Awakening for him. He died unglamourously, bleeding out onto the floor, discarded like yesterday's trash.
A completely fictional ending... or is it?
