Neve slipped into the bath and, with a satisfied sigh, allowed herself to feel guilty for an hour.
She hadn't, since she'd discovered the outcome, enacted revenge since. Temperance hadn't deserved a fate worse than death for the things she did. But she'd gotten it. Neve had given it to her.
The trip to Paris had been easy. The invitation wasn't even from her. The tickets weren't in her name. The hotel was arranged by Venice. Simple, really.
It was a fun time. The spas, the shopping, the clubs...
It was at about the fifth club that she got the coke. She'd been keeping an eye, and finally scored in the bathroom.
Neve smiled to herself, turning the tap off with her toe. She'd gotten the coke as well. Bless the French.
After that it was just a matter of biding her time until she'd been able to slip it into a corner of Temperance's bag. And then wait. And wait.
She hadn't expected customs to strip search her and Venice, but sacrifices must be made. An hour of discomfort for them was worth a few months of a few months of discomfort for her enemy.
She still wasn't sure if it was worth a life time of it, but there wasn't much she could do about it now.
Neve stood, dripping, from the tub. That hour was up.
